Thats good info.

You could have just ordered the part at a GM dealer and saved on the shipping. Thats what I did.

1. These p/n's are for the T-5 only. You need different sized gears for anautomatic.

2. Switching from 3.08 t0 3.42 required changing both gears, just like shifty did on this thread.

Actually it looks to me as if he only ordered the drive gear. He will probably still need the driven gear.

The more I think about it I think you are right. I am not sure if these gears are sold as a set, and that is what I bought or what. I have to wait until they get here. They had every part listed forsale that is in the T-5 tranny so I don't know why they would leave out a gear. I will keep you guys posted once they get here. With my luck I probably only ordered the one.

Well, I did the same thing in my 700r4(from 3.08 mechanical to 3.45 electric) and got the gears for about 5 bucks a piece from the local chevy dealership. They did have 2 part numbers. One for each gear.

Shifty,

Why don't you go to the the hanlon site and check out exactly what gears you need instead of guessing about it?

alloy,

I know what speedo gears I need I just don't know if the ones I ordered comes with both the drive and driven. If it doesn't, I will go to a GM dealer down the road and pick up the other one. I have to wait and see what I actually get sent.
