B&M Hammer shifter?

Does anyone have this shifter. It is a universal mount, so was mounting it in a camaro console easy or difficult. Any experience on this is great. Pics would rock.

i tried the feel of the hammer shifter at an NHRA event in a B&M booth and ever since then, i was in love lol i wouldnt consider the megashifter once you look at the two side by side, ill eventually get the hammer shifter and custom install it, but the car isnt on the road yet, few things more to worry bout till i start buyin aftermarket stuff for it hehe dont know though, maybe it wont work in the car... but i dont see why not if u find a way to get it in the console, shouldnt be that bad, maybe using a different boot...

good luck if you attempt to install it, so far ive only seen it installed in a 4th gen, and they didnt use the base or boot, they used a 6 speed leather boot, i saw it on cz28.com when i searched for the topic. either way i think it beats the megashifters big rubber boot hands down

Makaveli, I agree. The hammer shifter has a way cooler feel than the mega-shifter. Before I bought mine a played with one at the Jegs store for like an hour. I don't think the install will be that bad but I won't get to that till summer, I'm building the motor right now. I'll keep everyone posted

Lets see if this link works!

Damn, it doesn't. There is a thread entitled "4th gen console w? B&M shifter?" that has a 4th gen console with the hammer shifter installed. Looks good IMO. Sorry, i don't know how to post links that well! That is the correct thread id though. Well, the shifter is in a 4th gen car but it still would hold the same for one of our cars, just with a 4th gen center console. The console used was a 93-96 T/A Manual.

is this the pic your talking about? i saw it over at cz28.com a while ago. forgot about adding a 4th gen console would make it have the same settup lol ive yet to see one cut into a thirdgen console though. this summer i think im going to look for a leather boot that is sized nicely to fit our console, maybe cut up the stock console or a donor cars and see if it looks decent and make it work in a stock console.

Yeah thats it! A member by the name of 90 Z28SS on our board, that is his car from what i gather. Looks good IMO. It would go nicely with a 4th gen console, which i want to do anyway, as oppossed to a 3rd gen console. I too have not seen one in a 3rd gen console. Not sure if it is tall enough though. That is where the megashifter comes into play, a direct fit for our cars. If i wanted to retain the stock console, i would just keep the megashifter, who knows, i just may, but i was toying with the idea of a 4th gen console, without swapping to a manual trans. So far, i have not seen a decent install on an auto console without parts missing. Oh well!
