How do i convert the speedo sensor from a 91Z28/700-R4 to a T-5 from a 85 TA???
hey people, i'm about to do the 700-R4-T-5 swap in my 91 Z28
the T-5 tranny is coming out a 85 TA. As far as I know the speedo setup in my 91Z28 is a vehicle speed sensor/electrical setup, and the one that the t-5 uses is mechanical
Whats the best way to get my current electonic speedo to work with the mechanical one from the 85 TA T-5?? please help as i'm clueless about this stuff.

I think you worded your post wrong.
Your 91 Z28 uses an electrical connector for the speedo. The 85 T5 uses a mechanical speedo. You need the speedo setup off a T5 with the electric speedo......
When are you doing your swap? I'm swapping a '92 T5 into my 85 IROC and I have to remove the 92's electrical setup for a mechanical speedo housing and gear anyway, so if you want, we could swap.
Email if interested.

yes
and of course the correct gear to go with your rear end gears and all that, just like any other speedo situation.
FYI, I went the other way.... 91 trans into 83 car.... direct bolt-in. One 10mm head bolt.
