WHere is my drain bolt

I have a t-5 tranny that whines really loud in first gear when I let it engine brake. I think it's fluid and I need to find my drain bolt, the only thing is there are like 5 bolts that all look like drain bolts. Which one is it? I hope it is a fluid problem.

THere's only one, it's on the side of the case. Don't take out the extension housing bolts that point toward the rear of the car.

Fill is up higher on the side. Drain is at the bottom... of all places.

wish i had a digital camara, actually i wish i had the one i bought back, my sons had it for several years. my wct5 in my truck took a 17mm allen socket to remove the plug, in the bottom of the tran, like very bottom, fill was on the side. wish i'd had regular pipe plugs in mine, cost me near 30 dollars for a socket to remove the fill and drain plugs.

That bites!! This one I have, that came from our buddy that disappears for long periods and recently resurfaced, has regular pipe plugs. How can they be so dense as to put some impossible thing on the fluid change holes? That's just dumb as a box of rocks.

I'll see your query and raise you one.

Why do they use #$%#@y torx PLUS® (not just Torx®/ grade 8 bolts for the shift guide bolts in a T56?

After a trip to the welder / machine shoppe, I decided that the nuts they welded to them so they could be removed would be staying.

Just make sure you don't remove a bolt on the drivers side. People have mistaken this for the fill and it is not. Parts drop inside the tranny and it becomes a big DOH!!

But why would one have "A Box Of Rocks". Why not a stack of rocks, or a pile of rocks. And even so, what's so dumb about a "Pile Of Rocks".
