What car do you have? The 82-83 cars came with a 200c which has the same dimensions are a th350, so look for one of those cross-members. It will them bolt right up. But you will need to get the driveshaft cut to fit, unless you have the 200c tranny.

The th200c crossmember bolts to different holes in the subframe(that don't exist on later models) B&M makes a kit to do the swap.

I 'think' the kit adapts the crossmember. Does in have instructions? All it needs to do is move the mounting point foward a couple inches. You can drill a hole, but then you also need to get a nut up in the subframe and weld it in--don't get me wrong, it can be done.

Or you could go the the junkyard and get a driveshaft from an early thirdgen with a 200c trans. It will bolt right up- that's what I'm using behind my TH350.

On the b&m kit there is a flat metal piece w/ 4 holes. u use this to bolt to the tranny, and mount the tranny mount under it. It moves the tranny mount to accept your origional crossmember.

there are two driveshaft lengths, 3" longer with 200c and shorty 350 and 3" shorter and more common with 700r4 except corvette, and with longer tail th350, i will have to egg out the frame crossmember holes about 1" longer because thm200 is more forward mounted than 350 and 700 are

im getting ready to do an interesting tranny swap, swapping from 83 700r4 longtail to a thm200c shorty in an 83 caprice and then from 92 vss 700r4 in a caprice to the 83 cable controlled 700r4 from the 83 caprice,.

hmm....

i already have the 200c 82 trans am shaft and member sold i think,. if not then ill repost them for sale as i am going to shorter shaft and longer tail 350 in it, ill have to egg holes farther back in the t/a for the th350/700 position

there are many options and ways to go about swapping different models of trannies into third gens and other 80's 90's models too, just gotta get the tape out and think about it and research some too
