In a 3rd gen.?My posi unit blew out and a friend suggested installing a OEM diff. instead of an aftermarket unit.

Yup, a direct bolt-in; except that since you have a 88-back car (unlike the guy with the 90) you have 26 spline axles, where the 98-02 posi uses 28 spline axles like the 90-up 3rd gens do. So you'd need a set of axles to use one of those.

just a tid nit of info. I don't know if they fixed this yet but SLP has been out of those T/O for months. something like 6 months or so. if you get the heavy duty one then you'll have no problem but for 499 thats out of my league. I went on ebay and got a almost brand new t/o for around 200 with gears. 3.73 gears. well hope this helps you a bit.

They were out of some one of the pieces that you need to install it, not the diffs themselves.... but it won't be long before they do run out; and when they do, it's final. Bummer. Get it quick if you want it.
