Tranny Cooler

I have a 86 Trans Am and I found what I think is a transmission cooler in front of the radiator in my car, Does my car come from the factory with a transmission cooler? It has the lg4 305, with the 700r4 od tranny.

a better bet is you found part of your car's AC system, take another look.

What you are discribing sounds like a cooler. Maybe the person that owned it before you installed a cooler.

somebody told me that it's either a power steering cooler or a transmission cooler, but I don't know which one it is.

Its an aftermarket tranny cooler. The stock tranny cooler is inside the passenger radiator tank. As for the power steering cooler, thats just a metal line that runs under the radiator, it doesn't have any fins on it.
