this rear end will fit under your car you will cut and reweld mounting pearches from your original rear and purchase a brace that mounts to the housing just like the 12bolt conversion,i have one in my 83z,has been stout enough with my old big block z runnin 10.60s w/1.48 60' times, 11 yrs,now its in a small block z i am sure my 350 will NEVER see the power of the ratt!!!!!!!!i can e-mail you the pics of the bracket, very basic...the 8.2 and 8.5 look similar but i would use the 8.5 from 74-81f-body......

3.08 uses a different carrier than the 3.73s (2 series vs 3 series).
Is the rear a 12-bolt or a 10-bolt?

Count up the bolts that hold the cover on the back of the rear.
Not 100% sure of the width. Look around on the net. I'm sure you'll find it.

On 8.5" diffs, the 2.73 and higher gears use a 3 series carrier. 2.56 and lower is a 2 series. I don't know if the 8.2" that would be in a 70 Camaro follows that case break.

Do you have any idea what a 70Z 12 bolt rear end is worth these days? Only year for the big diff in the second gen camaros. Worth a fortune. Don't cut it up.

$650-$900 depending on who buys it. You may see them go for more than that on eBay, but those are crackhead prices. Half of those sales don't even end up going through once people find out how expensive it is to ship a rear.

An original '70 Z/28 rear won't have 3.08 gears unless they were installed later. On the Z/28, you could only get either 3.73 gears or 4.11 gears.
Some other '70 Camaro model could have the 3.08, but not a Z/28.
