Put im My LS1 driveshaft, but still have virbration

Ok, I put in my 4th gen aluminum driveshaft today but I still get that vibration when I get up to about 80 mph. My dad says I need to balance the shaft and get new yokes. What do you guys think? What could be causing my vibration?

Energy Suspension poly tranny mount can cause vibrations.

what conditions are your tires? That is usually the case for high speed vibrations.

My tires are in decent shape. But I have heard that cheaper brand tires will vibrate no matter what shape there in. What is a good brand of tires?

Betcha it's the shaft. After going through 3 of them, I got a brand new steel forth gen shaft from ebay and never had a problem since!

You really get what you pay for for tires. Chances are if you have cheap ones they will vibrate.

I very highly doubt it's the shaft. First you had the problem before the new shaft, and second, the LS1 driveshaft comes stock with a dampner that will virtually eliminate all vibration.

I've had a vibration problem for quite awhile, and have yet to cure it. What I can tell you, though, is how I narrowed down my problem. If you don't know if it's the wheels/tires, then put the axle on jack stands and take them off, then run the car up to vibration speed. I know it sounds a little hillbilly, but I've not had any problems troubleshooting that way. I even went so far as to remove the brake rotors and brakes, even though it was highly unlikely that the imbalance was in them. Anyhow, your not alone, I too have a LS1 driveshaft installed, and still have a vibration after new tires, and a whole lot of other new parts. What the LS1 driveshaft did do for me was raise the vibration from 60-65 to about 70-75. While the LS1 driveshaft is much better than stock, if you wander over to LS1.com, there are some guys over there that have replaced them with better driveshafts due to vibrations.

They don't replace them because of a vibration. They replace them because they have 500 hp and beyond and dont want to rip their driveshaft in half when launching on slicks.

Well, I can't view the other two, but right off the bat I can tell you the LPE driveshaft is 1 lb heavier than the ls1, its rated at 12.x, I believe the ls1 is 11.x. So I don't think these guys know what their talking about, I doubt LS1 driveshaft vibrate unless thier defective, my cousin has a 00 trans am, and we took that SOB up to 120 no vibrations what so ever.

Those guys in the thread have factory steel driveshafts. LS1's who got the non performance 2.73 rear also got a steel shaft.

It seems that I finally found a solution to my vibration. I replaced the LS1 driveshaft with a LPE driveshaft this evening, and it took away most all of the vibrations. There is still something slight around 90, but it's no where near as bad as what I had at 75 before. I don't know what the issue was with my LS1 driveshaft, because I had it balanced and checked out. Anyway, good luck with yours.

My car actually has the 2nd cheapest set of tires I could find, I think like 270 for 4 of them. It doesn't have any vibration problems, then again ive only had it up to 106 on these tires, I think they're rated at like 110 or 120 .

My jeep had a bad vibration because of the tires, it was out of alingment causing them to wear unevenly eventually causing a huge problem with vibration.

My car used to vibrate on the highway, until I got these BFG KDW's put on. And all vibrations pretty much died all together after my tranny got replaced and the blown tailshaft mount got replaced.
