Borg Warner Identification Help Please!
hi
i have a 1970 HT Holden GTS Monaro with what i was told was an '84 camaro gearbox, a T5 Borg Warner. now that i've blown it up, i'm having trouble identifying it - i don't think it's a T5 at all, especially given the id numbers.
The box has these numbers:
13-38-065-901 Borg Warner Basic, 27 spline ..... on the tailhousing is 13-38-066-901.......
i've done millions of web searches incl archives on this site, but i can only get info on the T5 or muncie boxes.. haven't found anything with the numbers on my box.... can anyone help please?
thanks!
josh

josh,
You might try this site. At the bottom of the page is a # search. I didn't see anything with those #'s, all they show are ones that start with 1352. There is also a contact for these folks at the bottom too. If you go to the Home page there is a listing for a forum.

and this is what it says it is
BORG-WARNER T50 1976-79 Compact Cars (Monza, Skyhawk, ect) Inquire
Aluminum end-loaded case with the bearing retainer being cast as part of the main case. The bellhousing is not part of this transmission. It has a removeable tube that the throwout bearing rides on. The main bearing in this unit is comprised of caged needles in shell races. Loose needles and flat thrust bearings are used throughout the transmission. Casting number is 13-38 . Limited parts availability.
It is a old T50 Not A T5
