yeah WHOOOPS here I am thinking OMG im done rebuilding this thing and theres an extra part! its just the shifter thingy.
ah, but now im worried about the extra bolts.. they look like valve body bolts.. im also missing 2 pan bolts... someone said that there are 2 extra long pan bolts and now im all confused because i dont have 2 extra long pan bolts
i hope i didnt use them by accident somwhere else inside this thing...

Don't worry they always put extra parts on cars so that when you are fixing it there will be some left over, its OK. My dad is an engineer and says that they put extra parts in there on purpose.

I think he was kidding..
There are two slightly longer pan bolts that are used to attach the shifter cable to the drivers side of the trans on the pan.. Better look to see if you left any valve body bolts out.. Things won't work well at all if you did...
The only situation that they would include extra parts was if those parts were included to make the kit fit additional applications without needing a completely separate kit/number...

In that thread you see the first picture of valves, those are leftover valves. I know one came OUT of the valve body, one was an extra (white spring sticking out) but the third im not sure... maybe it was from the TV valve i cant remember.
any ideas about the valves?
now about the leftover screws.. i have 4 of them, i think 2 are for the shifter linkage, 1 was for the governer cover, and one was for the TV cable hold down. so thats settled...
now I DO have some leftover seals...
I know he was kdding. so was I heh.
Im just worried since this was my first transmission assembly I wonder did i put everything together right. well, ill find out in about 20 hours, tommarow ill be putting the trans in and testing it out. any last minute suggestions? im going to run it for 300-500 miles then do a fluid change and switch to synthetic transmission fluid, do you think thats a good idea?

Seals aren't that big of deal since they are a take old off put new on one-at-a-time kind of part... I don't know if you took apart the low-reverse piston (that needs a special tool, and that will mean you will have extra seals leftover if you didn't go that far)...
EDIT: I also posted this over there, but the middle valve in your picture is the TV valve..
