Transmission mounts?
Hi everyone...
I have a few questions. after driving a little hard on my car, i noticed that in first and second gear mainly my shifter goes up and down... did i bust some transmission mounts or something? how would i go about fixing it? and lastly... will it do any damage driving like this? Thanks a ton

The transmission mount is very easy to replace. Just jack the transmission up enough to support it while you remove the support brace. Replace the mount and put the brace back on.

I put a jack under the torque arm, not sure if thats a bad idea, but it worked. This is how I did it.
Take off the bolt on the mount
Jacked the tranny up
Removed the crossmember so I could get in there easially (not necessary)
Took off the 2 bolts for the mount
Put the new mount on
Reattach crossmember
Lower transmission
Put mount bolt back on
Oh, and it didn't line up when I did it, someone had to pull the transmission over so the bold on the mount would to through the hole on the crossmember.
It costs $12 and takes a few minutes to change, it isn't worth risking damage for that.
