shifts late and way too hard
i've been having some trouble with my 700R4 recently. It's been shifting way too late and way too hard, when it's cold it'll shift from 1-2 at about 3-4 grand, and squeal the tires on the shift. 2-3 happens at about 35 MPH, and 3-4 rarely occurs. 3-4 is at about 40 MPH.
Once it warms up and has been driven through most of the gears it starts shifting earlier and the way it used to, however its still too late from what it used to.
I adjusted the TV cable according to the specifications on this website, it didn't change anything whatsoever. The transmission has always shifted hard, but never so late. I change the trans fluid as frequently as every 2 years. l checked the fluid its normal red, and smells good too.
l figure its probly a sticking throttle valve, how do l access it and whats the easiest way to repair the problem?
any suggestions?
thanks very much guys, sorry about the length

I'm no expert, but it sounds reasonable, and as far as I know it's a relatively common problem.
