i just picked up a used T-5 from a boneyard. i dont know much about em, ive always had automatic f-bodies. i was wondering if anybody out there had any pics of their tranny freshly pulled including bellhousing etc... im curious to see how the clutch fork, linkage and such are supposed to look. and also it looks like theres some sort of line cut on the tranny. but like i said i have no experience with these trannies...

thanks again guys

If the "line" comes from the top of the trans about where the case and the extension housing bolt together, it's the vent, and it goes nowhere. There's supposed to be a little white cap in the end of it.

If it comes from the slave cylinder mounted on the bell housing, it's the hydraulic clutch line from the clutch master cyl; the JY just boned you; because you can't buy that line. You'll need to go to the dealer and buy the pre-filled pre-bled assembly of the 2 cyls, the resrvoir, and the lines between them.

Do you know what kind of car all this came out of.... what year and engine? What are you trying to put it into?

The transmission came out of a 84 t/a and its going into my 84 z28 both L69s The line that is cut looks like its a feed from the slave? to the master... a half inch thick black line... pretty sure its the slave.

Roughly $100 - try www.gmpartsdirect.com for the best price.

It is not hard to change - just make sure to get a NEW slave unit so it is ready to go without any bleeding...a used one may just cause trouble after it is installed.

Not much to show in a pic....

The fork just clips onto the ball stud in the standard way, and the end of the slave cyl rod just fits into the cup on the end of the fork... the slave cyl bolts to the rear face of the mounting flange; the bolts go through from the front and thread into captive nuts in the shield bracket; the line goes into the slave from above. Pretty much a no-brainer. I think it's the only way the parts have any possibility of going together.

NWC & WC used the same bearing retainer, throwout bearing, clutch assy., bellhousing, ballstud, fork, and pedals, and hydraulics 84-92. They updated the PN's over the years but it's all interchangable stuff.
