9" install complete!
I finally finished my 9" install from quick performance. I cant say enough good things about their rear end housing, the welds are beautiful.
I also got a rear disk kit with 11" rotors and brackets that I had to grind to fit which i had welded on.
I got everything set up without a hitch really. Didnt even mess with the proportioning valve. The brakes made some noise initially and so did a u joint but it went away on its own.
First off, the brakes work AWESOME which really surprised me.
The center section is also dead silent, quieter than my 10 bolt even.
I did have one snafu, when they broke into the auto hobby shop and smashed my passenger window and stole all my tools and stereo and camera so I dont have any pictures. Maybe ill do something in watercolor for you guys to see
The best part of it all was losing the powertrax and going to 3.89 gears. Wheel hop is completely gone and the 3.89s really really help the get up and go as opposed to 3.42s and my less than torquey 305. I think I may hit 12s with this setup which would make me pretty damn happy, all with an n/a 305.
It launches hard enough to break my torque arm in a day
oh well.

I posted elsewhere about my 9", but I'll fill ya in on my expereience with quick performance. Everybody I race with buys from him and I heard nothing but good, so Doug was my natural choice when it came this time to install a 9"
Ordered it all up over the phone, told them I wanted everything 100% assembled so i could just bolt in and go. Was told I'd have to isntall the caliper brackets which was no biggie...but as you know alot of grinding to fit over the bearing end of the tube
I called the day before to let them know I was coming down to pick everything up per their instructions so they could get everything together and ready to go. I drive 1.5 hrs to get there and it took 4 guys 15minutes to figure out what I ordered and where it was at. Then they showed me 5 boxes of parts, nothing put together...literally nothing, not even the center section bolts in the houseing, then the one fella fessed up and said he forgot they were supposed to pout it together. So we're loading everything into the turck and he looked at my center section and asked if I ordered the 35 spline axles...no I ordered 31 spline. Well, he told me alot of there 3rd members have been getting the wrong spools installed lately, so I had to leave it there so they could install the right spool, that he told me would be shipped UPS that afternoon. This was Wendsday.
Thurday after softball I decided to go through the boxes and see what I had, went to install the axle vent tube...These housing I should mention are bought straight from Mosier since Mosier will not sell the torque arm mounting bracket to anybody, so Quick is stuck buying the housing straight from Mosier-this out of Doug the owners mouth, but back to the vent installation, somebody at mosier must've ran the tap inand out and in and stripped out their own threads, so I had to buy a new NPT tap and redo it, then they never sent the center section lockwashers and nuts, same with the axle retention plates...got the bolts but no washers or nuts. Called them Thursday night and left them a meassage expressing my anger, especially knowing then I could've ordered this complete from Mosier for anther $75 and probably not had this much BS to go through. Well they called me Fri about 10 am to let me know they were going to put the nuts and washers in with my 3rd member and that should be shipping out Fri. afgter noon or first thing Sat morning. I was really pissed off at that point since I needed a center section to properly mount up the caliper brackets.
So we'll see if my center section will be here tomorrow or Wed. Luckily we had a 31 spline 3rd member under the bench, but that's besides the point. I spent $2230 for the rear and $30 gas, did'nt have the right parts, was missing parts, and then to find out they basically buy from mosier and move the product from their left hand the the right hand, tack on a few bucks and then hand it to you. Just ridiculious, Doug the owner called me and left a voice message, but I could'nt get a hold of him the rest of Fri, but I told him on the message I left depending on how thier customer service was I ws going to bad mouth his business to every racer I knew at every event I attended unless he made this right. Just too much damn money for amature mistakes and lack of taking care of business. A few guys I spoke with after the fact did mention before he grew as a business everything was great, but since he grew things have been not going 100% correct. All of his help was fresh out of HS and a few college kids, and from first hand experience talking with a few of these guys when I was there I can see why it's going to pot.

yes one thing i noticed was the kid taking my order seemed pretty young and not very confidence inspiring. I didnt get nuts for the bolts either I had to purchase my own hardware, the little sheet of paper they put in with the setup said youd need them course the paper was printed up by moser so i should take back that I was completely satisfied, I wanted a 100% bolt in deal too and having to track down a bunch of fasteners was an SOB.
I still got my rear setup for alot cheaper than the competition

I hear ya, asembling the rear is not a big deal, done it before many times, I was a little hot under the collar when i ordered ti complete bolt in and got numerious boxes of parts. I still ended up getting the washers and nuts here in town so I could go as far as I could until the rest of the parts go here.
It just really started building up when it was one thing after the other literally. Once it's in the car and I'm going down the road it'll all be worth it not replacing 1 or 2 rears a year like I've been, but now in the moment it sucks ****. If I would've known they got all the parts straight from Mosier I would've opted for the 12 bolt diff cover too for that extra wow factor when guys seee what ya got. Something ya dont really need, but different than almost everybody else out there.

should be in the same boat this week, can't wait to launch that sucker for the first time with the Hoosiers on.

LOL, well the chit gets better!!! FINALLY got my center section today....no nuts and lock washers like they promised?!!! And then I looked at the yoke, hmmm, sure as heck not a 1350 yoke.
Called and talked to Doug the owner, he could'nt understand how things so messed up, then they could'nt find my invoice order sheet so I had to read him off what was on mine which basically stated what they orignally sent. The guy on the phone never wrote down the upgraded things I asked for.
Then when he asked for the dimensions of the yoke and realized it was a stock one he told me to bring it back and they'd assemble the rear end and switch yokes for me. Threee times he said this and three times I told him I was'nt going to drive 4 more hours with the gass prices they way they are and take time off work to deal with these screw ups from his company.
So I removed my yoke and am UPS it back tomorrow, he's sending the right 1350 yoke and get this...he's throwing in the end caps, woo hoo
I aksed about the rear end housing again and again he told me they had to order them from Mosier since the brackets are complex and they dont want to build a jig for a rear end that does'nt go in high volumes like a G body rear. Then I got the real reason for them not inistalling the brakes, liability, which I can understand since I had that same issue with welding/building certain things when I ran a tractor/trailer repair shop.
So the saga continues, now I gotta take this to somebody in town and pay them to have it set-up when the yoke gets here. No offer of reimbursment since I could drive down there and they'd build it for me
So I spend $30 in fuel and lose 4 hrs of work time as opposed to spending $30 and doing this after work having it set-up in town. Never again will I recommend them and their decals will be flying on my car upside down for others at the track so they dont make the same mistake as I ealing with these guys.
So to anybody that happens across this thread, IMO spend the few extra bucks and go with Currie or Mosier NOT, I repeat NOT, Quick Performance. Yes it will cost a little more, but at least you wont run around town chasing parts that should naturally come with these things and more than likely you'll get the right parts the first time!!

I sure hope good things come to those that wait
I called the local radiator shop Mon and asked them about installing my sump onto my fuel tank, sure no problem they say. Well I took it down there and the guy I talked to said they'll have it done by the end of the day and they' call me when it was ready. This was Tues.
Called down this morning to see how it was coming...have'nt touched it yet. So this afternoon I drove back there to see if it was coming along...nope, still in the same spot it was when I dropped it off, he hoped to "maybe" get to it by Friday.
At this point in time with everything that's benn going on, this poor fella ended up getting my frustration vented on him
My buddy took me to his friends shop and he said he could for sure have it done Fri. and would stop over to go over some last minute details before I drop the motor in. So back I went again to the radiator shop, picked up my stuff and the guy I got ticked at and another guy came over to see what I was doing. They told me they could get it forst thing in the morning, but I laughed and said you guys told me that 2 days ago and I'd just as soon give my money to a shop that does what they say they can do since this is holding me up at this point.
Rather get the tank installed before I hoist the rear into place.
I tell ya, if I had hair it'd of turned grey or I'd of pulled it all out by now.

WOW!!!! Sounds like some bad luck going on there. I sure am glad I have a currie 9" under my car. Sounds like this company is doing wonders for their credibility!!!!!!!
To everyone getting the runaround, good luck. To anyone else I recomend currie!!!! great products and great prices.

That's what I'm saying, too bad to, cause when he first got going he had just himself working out of a 30'x20' buildiing on his farm. Now he has about 8 guys all college age kids and a great big shop now, so if nothing else maybe besides not having the bst help in this kind of business he probably grew faster than he could keep up. So Quick Performance needs some major help in the order taking to finished product department and fast.
Just glad to see pablo had some troubles too with them so I now know it was'nt just my karma
and an isolated case. Got my 1350 yoke in this afternoon, man what a difference!! Now I'll feel safe letting go of the transbrake and not sending u-joint parts all over the track first hit off the tree
