clutch not bolting to flywheel help
the clutch bolts onto the flywheel on laying flat on my table...but when we try to bolt it up to the flywheel on the engine it just wont go we tried for 1hr and 1/2 its a centerforce dual friction....and flywheel is brand new for a t-56 conversion
i doubble checked the bolt part numbers ...with other dealerships.....i would thread bottom and go exact opposite....and try but the clutch was so far away from the flywheel i had a friend push as hard as he can but the bolts will not go in...so we rotated the engine so the bolt was ontop...and c clamped it tight but that bitch will not go....how did you guys do it??

i'm not sure of the t56 but on the t5 you start 1 bolt first, not tightened all the way and gently go around and tighten evenly

What do you mean, "just won't go"?
Are your bolts too short? Are they the right bolts? (not generic parts store ones or whatever)
Do you have the disc turned the right way; such that the springs are toward teh clutch and not smashed up against the flywheel bolts and making it appear "too thick"?

The only real difference between doing it on the table and doing it on the car is having the flywheel bolts in it. The clutch disc must be hitting the flywheel bolt heads, which means either the wrong bolts in the flywheel or the wrong clutch plate. I'd pull it off the engine and stick 2 of the flywheel bolts through the holes and see if it'll bolt up that way...that'll tell you for sure if that's what it is.

ehhe i got it....what i did is took the stock bolts to home depot and got the same size head and thread....than i got longer bolts...they 1/2 inch longer so i bolted those down alot easier...than when the pressure plate was flush...and all bolts were tight...i removed them one by one and replaced them with the proper bolts...once they were all in i torqed and it worked like a dream....damn that was hard
