what trans gears to use

I need some help with figuring out which gears need to be installed in the T-5 I just replaced in my 92 Trans-am I wont go into the details of why I had to replace the T-5 just to say it was broken and leaked all the ATF from it instantly.
My problem is the speedo is about 25 mph over, the rear end has 3.42 gears, options codes E9Z speedo delete, and E5Z speedo delete the car has no speedo cable ,the new T-5 has a tag on it that reads 1019298,C3023,1352-213,12039, can anyone tell me
what I need to do to get my speedo to read correctly so I'll now just how fast or slow I'am really going.

Simple, did you swap out the speedometer drive gear and speed sensor that was in your old tranny when you replaced the T-5.

Thanks for the reply Trickster, The Olds dealer that replaced the T-5 said that they did replace the speed sensor and the gear inside the tail-shaft from my old T-5.

The new T-5 has higher gears in it because now the car runs like it has 456 gears in the rear end.

I need to now what color or number of teeth on a gear that will bring my speedo back down to earth.

Now I need a new set of tires because these are toast.

Thanks again rvtech24

Sorry, guess I should have added this to the last post also. It is out of the 92 firebird GM service manual.

The gears in the service manual are the ones that the olds dealer said that they installed from my old T-5, but I believe that they did change the speed sensor but not the gear inside the tail shaft

I need to know if any-one can decode the numbers that are on the trim tag from the new T-5 to determine what gears to install to match my rear gears.

Put the codes in and we'll give a whirl. Have you pulled the sensor and gear out and looked at it. And you let an Olds dealer do the work? LOL

The codes are 10192298,C3023,1352-213,12039.

The pontiac dealer was 1 week behind in service

But Grandma always said good things come to thoes who wait.

When I figure which gears to install in the T-5 it will go to the
pontiac dealer.

none of them knows how to decode the trim tags
