(quick quesiton) 4th Gen Posi Carrier..

...should swap right in to my 90 Iroc rear end...right?


28 spline..

Depends on what gears you have, I believe.

i will be puttin 3.73's in the carrier. my car has 3.42 posi now.

Well, as long as the posi unit is a 3-series carrier, it will work just fine.

Just make sure that IROC doesnt have a 9 bolt. Its a totally diffrent animal then the 10 bolt. If your car is factory with the L98, then I am 99.9% sure you have a 9 bolt.

9 bolts were during the 86 - 89 thirdgens, 90 - 92 were 10 bolts with 28 spline axles.

If you have a 10 bolt with 28 spline axles, and you have the right series carrier to match the posi unit, then yes it will be a direct bolt in.

On the contrary, the IROCS, except for the most base model version, have a BW 9 bolt. Easiest way to find out is to look.
