Installed my LS-1 Alum. driveshaft ....

All i have to say is ...it was money WELL spent
Dunno how much actual power you gain..In my case that would be an extra...because it did away with my high speed(80+) vibration!

Yeah, they are a wise investment.

I've been looking into getting one of those. How much did you get yours for?

is there any changes needed to make this work or is it a direct fit in a T5 car. I happen to have a LS1 T56 shaft sitting here.

It is a direct bolt-in..no mods whatsoever

Obviously its got an advantage over a stock iron thirdgen DS.

But how much is it than the 3rdgen Aluminum DS? I know its thicker, i think 3.5" to our 3", how much more does it weight? The reason I'm asking is because my Aluminum DS in the GTA is pretty beat up where the rear U-joint bolts up. I can still get one in there, but for peice of mind I'm considering a swap.

Thirdgen aluminum was 2.5"

The LS1 aluminun is 3"

THe LS1 aluminum also has a vibration dampener and weighs I believe 1 lb less than the thirdgen aluminum.

The LS1 driveshaft is the preferred choice.

LS1 aluminum = 2.75" with vibration dampener.

thidgen = 2.5" but with a thicker wall thickness, making it stronger

correction, the third gen "1LE" shaft is 2.75 inches, whereas the LS1 shaft is 3 inches
