Transmission problems.

This is diffacult to explain so bear with me.

I am able to rev the engine like its in neutral in all 4 gears(I only press down the gas about 1/2 way and it jumps all the way to redline). The car moves slowly in all the gears, it moves faster in 1st. I am revving it to 4 grand in 1st and only able to move 20 mph. Anyone have any clue what is going on? Thanks.

I have no idea how many miles are on the transmission because it was swapped in with a 350 from a previous owner and I don't know how many miles it has. The car itself has 160k miles on it. I didn't hear a big clunk or anything when it occured 2 days ago.

I checked the fluid levels and the ATF was brownish in color. I put some more fluid in because it was low and the tranny started to act better but not alot. It was shifting really well just 2 days ago before this happened. I was just cruising at 45 in 3rd and then the problem occured. The tranny never slipped before at all. So yes I was thinking the TC was the problem but I need someone else's input.

Try changing the filter. it might be plugged with crap and not letting enougth fluid trough.

So I'm going to have to replace the tranny then? How long does it take?
