one wheel peel action, wtf??

somethings up with my rear end, it gets sideways when i turn left, and going straight, but when i turn right, it only spins the right tire. what the hells goin on, can needing a diff fluid change cause this? its a fairly new auburn posi carrier, im not sure how old the fluid is or which rear axle i have. where is the number on the axle to determine which it is?

count the bolts in the cover to know what you have. you mean it drags a tire on right hand turns? is it clutch chatter you hear and think it's dragging a tire?

not sure what you mean by clutch chatter or dragging. it only spins the right tire, sometimes the left one will act like it wants to break loose, will kick out sideways for a second, but its always just one black mark i leave when i turn right.

i'm still confused, are you saying it isn't working properly or you're being stupid and showing off making right hand turns?

The whole piont of a LSD is to UNLOCK when turning. It will work just like an open diff when turning.

No, the point of a limited slip diferential is to limit the slippage in the differential. The outside wheel is allowed to turn somewhat faster than the inside one in a turn (or at any time, really). At no point does it unlock or behave like an open differential.

lol...when you turn its designed to let the outer wheel "slip" so you can make a turn without ratcheting or grinding your gears....also its not a good idea to be burning the tires loose around corners, theres nothing really that cool about that...if ya wanna do some driftin go find a parking lot....i never liked auburn diffs either, they just don't seem or feel as tough as better ones like Eaton...

Your right. There was so much confusion I tried to keep it really simple.

Sounds like your posi is on its way out.

My 9 bolt is completly fried for the most part. On left hand turns, or going straight the posi works most of the time. But when I turn right the inside tire just spins.

Mine needs a rebuild, yours probably does too.

EDIT: Just noticed you said it was fairly recent. It may have been setup wrong which could cause premature wear.
