are you taking the mount off the tranny?
To change the bushings you only have to take out the two small bolts on the bottom out, the bracket will then pivot up like a hinge, then change bushings and put two bolts back in

I unbolted the crossmember and the tail of the tranny droped enough for me to get the bolt out. I had my driveshaft out at the same time to put new u joints it, so this may have helped the tail drop more. Just be careful as you will lose fluid out the tailshaft of the tranny.

Have a quart-sized ziplock bag (preferably a freezer bag - they're thicker) and some heavy-duty rubber bands on hand before you pull the driveshaft yoke out of the tail of the trans. As soon as you pull the 'shaft, put the bag over the tail of the tranny & secure it tightly with the rubber bands.
This helps keep the "bleeding" to a minimum, and helps prevent your shop floor/driveway from looking like there's been a recent murder...

How goes it? I did mine a few days ago and unbolting the transmission crossmember was all I needed, but I had the rear end out @ the time, so the driveshaft did not pose a problem.

well i removed the driveshaft and crossmember and it still doesnt drop nearly low enough. i think the bolt was put in the wrong way because it needs to slide out the drivers side. if it was to slide out the passenger side, it would come out no problem. i guess ill take it to a shop and have them charge me like 200 bux to do it.

On mine, there were thre bolts total:
Two at the bottom of the mount which both pulled out toward the driver's side (one of them is permanently attached to the mount)
One at the top which pulled out toward the passenger's side.
For the one at the top, I removed the nut on the driver's side and all was cool. Then I pulled removed the nuts on the two lower bolts, dropped the transmission crossmember as far as it would fall by gravity (used a jack to gently lower it) and everything came out without a problem. Note that I'm probably running the original engine mounts, so that probably helped with dropping the transmission a bit more than it should.
I had the torque arm removed and the rear end of the driveshaft was disconnected, but was still attached @ the transmission.

ya my problem is the upper bolt wants to slide out towards drivers side just like the lower ones and i cant pull it out all the way. i guess i can take a hacksaw to it and just go buy a new bolt? but im tired of screwing with it.

Like I said, if you drop the tail of the tranny down a bit, it will come out.
I did this without removing the tailshaft from the tranny. Just unbolt the tranny cross member, and lower it down with your jack.

If you drop it far enough, it will come out, but it does sound like someone in the past changed the torque arm bushing with the tranny out of the car. That top bolt isn't too easy to get out if it's facing the wrong direction. I'd caution against cutting it out because you will have to replace it. If you don't, you increase the chance of breaking the transmission tail. I guess you can either try pulling down on the transmission decently hard or pull the entire tail, but you'll have fluid everywhere. Whatever you do, try to get that bolt in the right way when you reassemble.
As an aside -- you could get a dremel with a grinding attachment and actually remove the old rubber with the mount still bolted in place. I'm not real sure if it would work, but from what I remember it should be possible, but not easy.

You might get enough extra pivot by jacking up under the front of engine - maybe jacking up under the balancer? I dunno - just a thought.
