Automatic Transmission for 800 to 1000HP

I am having a problem choosing the right automatic transmission for a motor I am building that will be in the 800 to 1000HP range. Any ideas would be a great help.

Pick the one that best suits the car and combination. Both will work.

Street, TH400 only. You wouldn't like the powerglide on the street but it wouldn't hurt it.

Strip only, either will do but the powerglide would be better.

You're getting to the range where any stock transmission just won't work, even a TH400. Buying an Ultraglide that's good for over 1000 hp might be your best option. Start saving your money.

Well I have the money for the motor now not really gonna get into what it is but its a stock 500HP burner with a 7000RPM limit. Its gonna be hard on a tranny. I will be adding turbo, supercharger, or nitrous along with other upgrades. Having never installed a motor pushing as much power I have never needed such a powerful auto tranny. Is there anything else you guys recommend with such a poweful engine? This will be street legal just to say.

http://www.mikestransmission.com I'm running one of their TH400 transmissions. It was behind a blown injected big block making 1,000 hp in a pretty heavy car. Started it's life out as their Ultimate TH400, which had no problems, but the previous owner sent it in and had them build it to the Ultimate Vasco specs. Plans changed and he was selling anything and everything soon after he got the trans back. I got the trans and converter for basicly the price of the rebuild

let me get this straight, you're 18, you're building a 800 to 1000 HP engine and you're unable to figure out what trans to use? how many engines have you built in the past of equal, or lesser HP?

ede, most guys that are able to build 1000hp motors dont have a clue about the rest of the car and what it takes....since all their knowledge goes into building 1000hp

Obviously wrong question asked and door left wide open.
you might want to think about a different rear end as well maybe a roll bar at a minimum, but at your 1000hp you better get into a funny car 14point minimum for car ridgidty and driver safety since 575hp can get away from ya quick enough on the street, 1000hp will be crazy!! Different driveshaft with 1350 joints both ends, driveshaft loop both front/rear for max protection. Are you gonna try to stick all that in factory suspension form?? Your gonna need some help there as well.

I was talking about other transmissions you guys recomend. Not other parts I already had all that in mind. I have done maybe 4 motors non upwards of 450HP. Two transmission installs but nothing to the extremes.

As for the power. I am taking steps untill I get used to everything. Starting with the 500hp and steping it up. It will probaly stay at the 500hp for a year or two BUT I dont want to have to change the tranny later. So to save some time when I asked you I just asked for a transmission that will work for farther upgrades. Sorry I should of said that.
