Pro 5.0 shifter question
I was searching through the boards about this shifter and was wanting to know if it fits OK in a 3rd gen Camaro console w/ a T56 & a Lou's short stick? Or is there a need for the short stick in the 3rd gen console. Also I have a Mallory shift **** which screws down farther so I am not sure of the need for the short stick. Any input would be great.
TIA

Sicne you have a T56 you can run the 4th gen Pro 5.0 tailored for that tranny. Before you buy the short stick I would install the shifter and see if you like the height. It is held on with two cap screws and can be removed in seconds. You can cut the shaft down as well if you want it shorter. The short stick is cool but it is just to easy to modify the shaft that it comes with.

Not sure how short the "short stick" really is, but I cut my Pro5.0 down about 1", and I had an MBA **** which they say are threaded deeper to screw on further, in effect acting like a shorter shift stick. I know it was pretty low, much lower and i'd be digging in the console to find my shift ****
I'd definetly try it as-is first

yep its awsome how better it feels to drive with a shorter throw and stiffer shifts!!
I didnt cut mine down as i like it the way it is... and im scared i may go too short. I wish i could make one to cut up to try.
