Thanks for the info I find of thought that it might being 5.7 to 5.7 same year and all, but I was just concerned about the van being 3/4 ton going to a third gen maybee it will being a little stronger?

You'll need to swap the tailshaft housings to mount the torque arm, and the speedo gears.

thanks apeiron that is the kind of stuff I was looking for as I've never done this type of swap, I guess I'll go buy tailshaft housings. Do you know about what they run denero wise? I would have eventually figured out what was up but I do love this site as it is nice to have all this knowledge at my finger tips Thanks again

The tailshaft housing isn't an item that's prone to breakage.
No stock 700R4s are particularly strong. If you're worried about it, you should have one built up to suit your needs.

I just wired one to work the lock up in 4th gear only per customers request. Terminal a on the lock up plug will need 12v ignition power. Then wire terminal a in the trans to the positive lead on the solenoid. Put a normally open switch in the 4th pressure port and run the ground on the solenoid to the terminal on the pressure switch. More than 1 way to get lock up. This is just 1 simple way.

The computer never did shift the tranmission, the only thing it has any control over is the TCC lockup. Floor Guy's method to get it to lock in 4th works just fine. It would have been nice if you hadn't hacked the wiring out, you could have rewired the inside of the transmission and reused the external transmission wiring with only some minor changes.
