Where is the VSS (speed sensor) located?
I need to install a speedo calibration unit and I do not know where this sensore is. I need to tap into the wires for it so I need to locate this thing.
thanks

Remove the center console.. is that an option?
Or do I need to crawl under the car?

Just crawl under the car. Theres only two connectors on the trans. the one in the front is for the lockup converter and the one in the rear is for the vss.

The trick is to follow the wires to where they enter the car and then tap in to them for the speedo calibration unit.Originally posted by dankhound

If it doesn't use a seperate VSS buffer, (like my 88) you could get your hands on a schematic and tap into them where they go into the ECM. Atleast the connections would stay dry.Originally posted by 92need-a-z

haynes repair manual, or probably any repair manual should have the wiring diagrams.
Check around the tech articles here, theirs a few diagrams listed but i think their for the mid 80s
