website tranny length innacuracies.
why is it that all the websites that list you the dimensions of the auto trannies- and such -that they are all around an inch wrong(sometimes worse) ?
for example, i have a th350 out of an 81-c10 pickup sitting here on the floor, it has the 9" tail in which is second to the longest th350 trans ever made by GM('69-85)
when i measure it with a tape measure i get EXACTLY 31 and 1/2" overall length,
not including the little bit of output shaft that sticks past the end of the tailshaft housing
now, go lok at this page real quick where it lists th350 dimensions; look for dimension C and the middle length(8"tail one)
it claims these are 30 11/16" long
overall

im just curious to see if anyone knows why websites dont list the accurate dimensions?
is it a conspiracy to screw ppl up or something ??
i just wonder....
