If you just want tire chirping shifts, you can go with the B&M kits. but if you also want to prevent common problems go for the transgo kit, which is more. i have both for sale for when you make your mind up, all wrapped up, for less than whatever you can find it for online. good luck.

Go with the TRANS-GO shift kit. I have it and I LOVE IT!!! Chirp second gear everytime and on a good day i could get 3rd gear to chirp. I got mines through ebay. Also get the corvette servo too, that will also make a difference in your shifting.

shift kit is a set of springs and various other things like checkballs and valves that you install into your transmission. it has nothing to do with the shifter.

Ramair21, how hard is the install of the corvette servo? Is it a reccomended mod or should it just be reserved for those more knowledgeable with automatic tranny's? Any answers to those questions would be appreciated.
Sorry if I jacked this thread. Go with the Transgo, much better than B&M. Iv'e rode(is that a word) in a truck with a transgo shift kit and it sure is great to feel that thing snap into gear.

The Servo wasnt hard at all. I hate dealing with trannys too. Just go ahead and do a search on google and on here. There is very helpfull tip on how to do it. The servo location is on the passenger side of the tranny. It looks like a circular cover. Check this site out, this is what i used.

Trans-go is the way to go. Hope this helps.

driven is the word you are looking for. and both the servo and transgo kit are fairly easy to install. and by the way, the transgo kit will work WITH the servo.
I bought the trans go shift kit from summit for my 87 GTA and HATED it. Don't get me worng I loved the tire chirps in second at W.O.T. but the part throttle shifts were VERY hard, down right hurt my neck everytime. Although I don't know the real reason but my trans only lasted 5000 miles, could have been the shift kit or could have been my trans was already on it's last leg or both. I have since replaced my trans with a newer 92 year unit and went to Dana at Pro-built http://www.700r4l60e.com/store/custo...&cat=28&page=1 and bought his street strip version and I absolutly love it. He takes the trans go kit and reworks it for better reliability and performance, also softenes the part throttle shifts so they are not so harsh. It has the tire chirps at W.O.T. and very smooth part throttle shifts. His may cost a bit more but it is well worth it, ( my neck thanks me for it to). Just my opnion though.

but with the transgo kit you can choose in 3 places if you want the shifts harder or softer. there are 2 springs to choose from in 2 sections and i think you can change the amount of washers in another place, or block off a certain part of the seperator plate or something. but i know its adjustable with the kit. usually trango is known for not just making it shift hard, thats what the B&M kit is known for.
Yeah but in my situation that was 4 years ago and now they may have changed it since then, and it could have been just the way that I installed it, whatever it was I hated it. Dana at probuilt custom taylored it to my application and specifications, I told him what I wanted and he sent me a modified kit that changes the sizes of holes to drill and whatnot. I just did what he specified and it shifts great.
