4th gen rear strength?
how much power do u think a beefed 4th gen rear could handle. by beefed i mean and eaton posi with 30+ spline axles and 3.73 gears. im planing on putting in a 350 with about 400-450 hp and possibly a 100 shot of nitrous. will the rear hold up to this?

it will hold until the first pass with slicks typically. i've blown them up before on built up LT1s on the street but sitting on a slick

There's really no way to know for sure. Some people have 10-bolts running 10 second ET's over and over, and others have blown up 10-bolts running 13's.
You're on the right track with a better posi unit and larger axles. Have you considered a rear end girdle/cover, too?

supoosably the girdle/cover can make a world of difference . Summit offers a nice heavy duty looking rear cover for 130 should eliminate a lot of flex.
If it makes any difference my neighbor races 1 behind his scca sorta street car with 400-450 hp running 10 in slicks and has had no problems for the past few years/races with a locking rear diff.
