problem clutch

can anyone explain this one for me ? ?? ? ?

i have just purchased a 1988 camaro rs5000 with a 5 speed manual and 305ci engine ... i think that it is a lo3 engine...

on purchasing the car i noticed that in the service history it has had 3 clutches in the last 4 years... the last one being in 2004...when i drove it i noticed that going down the box the gears were wining... like a straight cut box... it also had terible clutch judder in first gear....

i put most of it down to the fact that the gearbox was wining .... i told the guy this a we worked something out on the price... i booked it straight in to my mate who has got a garage mainly dealing in rolls royce and bentleys???. . . he has diagnosed it as the lave shaft bearings..... the sincro is fine !!!

this is now bothering me though... could it have been the box that had worn all the clutches????

has anyone had any issues with manual boxes and clutches on the camaro???? i know that most of u guys in the states in particular run autos mainly, so u may not have had it?? i still like 5 in the floor though... main reason being that i want to use it for track days as well as personal use....

any help for me the novice, when it comes to these cars will be most helpful as i have just got in to them????

thanks
