G Force T5 opinions

I am thinking about having my T5 built up with a G Force package. Has anyone done this on their T5 and were they happy with the results?

I have also heard that shifting can be tough (i.e. notchy) at normal city driving speeds and its very smooth when your really on it, turning high rpms (i.e. running the 1/4 mile).

What have people experienced with this gear set? If you were to do it again would you go the same route?

I appreciate all the input!

A kid that I use to hang out with bought a G-Force 5 spd from his mustang, and it seemed pretty bulletproof. Its been in the car for about 2-3 years now, and the car is raced at the track often, pulling the tires off the ground.

Im not sure what their rebuilds are like though.

I just talked to a tranny guy that does all my work. The kit is $1095 then he also performs a rebuilt on it while its apart for obvious reasons.

When its all said and done it will run me $1600 at the most. He gives me a warranty on it and claims it is good for 500 lb/fts of torque.

I was up in the air between the G Force and a TKO-500. Seems if the G Force can handle it then its worth it. A new TKO-500 will run me around $2300 with the F Body Late Kit.

Just keep in mind that the case becomes the limiting factor at that point. You can't really build the T5 beyond 500 ft/lbs without reinforcing the transmission housing.

My motor is going to be around 425 - 450 lb/fts. That's part of the reason why I am looking to build the T5 instead of going with a T56 or a TKO.
