Clutch Question... (Did a search..)

I searched here on thirdgen.org for what kinda clutch I should get.. (still unsure) and posted this message on camaroz28.com (no replys..AGAIN still unsure which clutch)

Im new to this site.. First post obviously... The guys on thirdgen.org recommended I come here for to look for a clutch. I have a T56 Trans from a 94 Camaro. The engine (305 91 TPI) is mostly stock.. nothing special. One day I plan on doing a twin turbo setup.. its not gonna happen anytime soon (unfortunatly). My car is gonna be a "street/strip car." I see a lot of you guys recommend the McLeod Twin Disk clutch. Im sure its worth the 1000 bucks but is it worth it for a engine that pushs 250 hp (TOPS)??? Any advice?

The OEM replacement would do fine for your current application, I've seen them hold up to 350hp with abuse and work fine.

Yes, a good OE will hold more than the power you have. - That said, I'd still probably go with something like a CF or Spec stage I....

whys that Shagwell??? Just personal preference?? (meaning why would you go with CF/SPEC) And when you guys say OE do you mean go to the GM dealer or a local auto part store? And yes I know that OE stands for orginal equipment.

For your current set up if you're spending more than $200 for your clutch disk, pressure plate, pilot bearing, and throw out bearing, you're putting money in the wrong place. Go OE unless you're putting out 350+ ft/lbs of torque.

Yeah.. I agree with you (now) Bigdreams.. Last night I was thinking long and hard about it and came to the same conclusion as you.. Spending over 200 bucks for a clutch on pretty much stock motor.. it would be a waste..
