Shift Kit
I'd like to get a shift it into my 88 with a TH350. I'm not looking for anything major just not these crappy stock gears. http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1∂=HUU%2D2858601&N=4294920458+4294904013+115&autoview=sku

Got a hurst kit in mine, did it out in the driveway and only took a few hours (including beer breaks!)
My 1-2 shift is awesome, barks the tires all the time (can be a bit scary when its slippery out!) the 2-3 doesnt seem much if any different though.
But its probably going to be alot different with your gears, im running 4.11s...

What does the rear end gear numbers mean? Like low numbers = ? Higher Numbers = ?
Also I have done some research and found that Transgo seems to be the best shift kit in alot of opinions. Any comments?

You do not want a "valve body" kit that breaks the tires loose at light to medium throttle. This is just HARD on the internals of the transmission, besides being dangerous. Trans-Go offers the best in terms of smoothness & firmness.

Heard alot of good stuff abut the transgo kits but have never installed or driven a vehicle with one in it...
As for the gears, The numerically higher the gear ratio the lower the gear is and visa versa.
So 4.11s= all bottom end power
2.73s= all top end speed
