if you spin one side, the opposite side should turn the other way, is that a good indication?

have a friend hold one wheel then you turn the other wheel forward and feel the amount of force to turn it. i have done this but i dont know the spec or how you would measure them.

or you could go out and wait until it rain and spin the biatch...... Then again that's just the easy way lol.

You guys overcomplicate things.

problem with turning the wheels in the air is theres not much load on the tire your turning therefore even worn out posi's seem to look like they are in fine working order while doing that.

Anyways pull the rear diff cover or go burn some tires is the only real way to find out.

If the tires turn opposite directions or 1 side turns and the other doesn't it's open or a worn out posi.

That wont work on a zexel you will get 1 wheel spinning.

If its a zexel its helical and doest have much that can wear out. They are a good posi that never has to be rebuilt because it doesn't have a clutch pack.
