which flywheel/clutch combo to use
Hey I just bought almost all the parts I need (just need flywheel, clutch, and bellhousing) for a t-5 swap into my 86 auto. Its a 305tpi and I was wondering does the number of the teeth matter? At summitracing.com, I can either pick 168 or 153 th flywheel. What is the correct size flywheel my engine?
Also, I also don't know what size clutch to use? 10.4, 11
I'm alright at driving stick, it'll come with time but can anyone recommend a decent clutch, better than stock?
Anyone have bellhousing/flywheel, let me know thanks.

you have to get the 153 tooth flywheel. the 168 tooth doesn't fit inside the bell housing, also the starter is different for each. I bought my flywheel at Advance auto for like $60something
I think its the 10.4" clutch
Ram and Centerforce are popular aftermarket clutch brands. I've heard good things about the Centerforce dual friction clutch.
does your engine have a 1 piece rear main seal? I have a flywheel for that

the 168 tooth is for motors with a 400 crank.. i have one for my stroker and i had to get a bellhousing.. simply doesnt fit in the stock bellhousing.. and i would recommend the centerforce dual friction clutch.. i have one on my TA and it has never slipped.. even on slicks.. also has a lighter clutch pedal feel..

Yes I just looked up on another site, that its a one piece rear main seal. How much would you let that flywheel go for. Obviously less than $60 (brand new)
