Adjusting Throttle valve cable
How do you adjust the throttle valve cable on a 700R4? I don't understand what the book says.

Ok I think I got it all I had to do was push that button, push the thing back all the way then let go of the button then push throttle all the way open and it should click into place right? Please let me know if I did that right.

Car: a car being parted out
Engine: blown up
Transmission: in peices
I recently had to replace my TV cable.
Got it in, and I adjusted the thing all the was back (to the mount bracket) and this car will not go into 2nd untill darn close to 40 MPH!
Looking at it while the throttle is closed, there is a good 1/2"-5/8" of cable ahead of the kick down clip.
On my old one I had it just like this one is and it shifted at around 20.

did you push the throttle open by hand until it stops against the stop not just because it won't move you have to make sure the throttle is al the way to the stop you should hear the adjuster ratchet into place.

I pulled the cable all the way out by hand and never heard a "click"
I could feel the tension on it from the TV valve though.
