T-5 Won't Shift into gear
Hey everyone. I got a quick question. As title states, tranny will not go into gear with engine on, put will shift into gears when engine is off. I'm new when comes to manual trannies, so bare with me. I swapped the tranny in along with my motor. I was wondering what could be the close's possible problems at this point (also the easiest). I bleed the hydraulic system out, but by pumping the clutch pedal numerous times, not from the bleeder screw. I was hoping maybe the slave cylinder still has some trapped air in it that won't allow it to push the fork out all the way? The fork move, just about a 1/2 inch though. If not, what else could be possible wrong at this point?

If it works with the engine off, then it has to be something wrong with the clutch install. Its not lined up properly.

So, maybe the input shaft is not grasping the clutch properly? Maybe the clutch was installed with an offset (why, I don't know, things happen) because it was wrongly installed on a hot summer day. I'll drop the tranny i get the input shaft properly aligned with clutch, i hope thats the problem.

What did your problem end up being? I am swapping from an auto to manual and I am having the same problem. It is driving me crazy
Re: T-5 Won't Shift into gear
I have the same exact problem... Then i found a reciept that the clutch was replaced(before i bought it) and it says "Customer may have to have clutch release rod extended er used almost all of the adjustment. This means that the linkage is getting worn and the easy and cheap fix when adjustment is needed would be to have rod extended" So i think thats my problem.. since the clutch isnt engaging
