8.5" 10 bolt availiblity?
wondering if there is any info on what rear ends might be able to be swapped witht he weak stock rear. i'm wanting a 8.5" more than good enough. and some people debate that its better than a 12 bolt because of reverse threading and actual claping surface area of the bolt head on the ring gear. also requires less power to turn, and my car should be straining it too much, street car with 500hp ( lets hope a 406 with 195 afr heads can pull it off)

There's nothing stock that'll swap right in. You could get real lucky and find a Dana 44 in a junkyard, but apart from that you'd either have to do a bunch of fabrication youself, or get something from an aftermarket vendor.

Don't forget there's the torque arm to deal with.

Check out amazingmechanical.com They make an 8.5 for the 3rd gen. I found it while reading Quick Times Magazine. I'm not looking to do my rear yet so I haven't called them. There is no prices on the website. I think they are in Edmonton so they don't have to ship across the boarder. If you check it out let us know.amazingmechanical.com

Is that with tax, shipping and a BJ?
You could get a moser 12 bolt for cheaper than that I'm sure.
