Transmission mount to Transmisson bolt size?

I need to know the size of the middle bolt that the tranny mount bolts into the tranny. One of my bolts feels to short and when you really tighten it, it jumps a thread back. The longer bolt goes in tight then when you take the socket out, it makes a 1/8 of a turn loose by itself. the bolts I have are like a 1x1.5 or something like that. What size bolt do I need?

I have a M10x1.5 right now. Does this sound correct?

Okay, So I checked and I have the right bolt. When I put it in, I can't thread it in by hand, so I don't think it is stripped, but when I tighten it, it gets to a certain point and it feels tight. When you tighten it a little bit more, it gets loose and and can't tighten in enough.

Thats a stripped thread. You need to drill it, tap a larger size bolt now.

I am going to use a helicoil. Anyone use one before? I just spent $40 on the stuff I need so I hope it works.

Helicoils work awesome and are stronger then the aluminum threads were.

Worked out great. At 40 dollars though . After we put the helicoil in, I realized that I could have just stuck a bolt in there and been good to go. O well, at least it will be stronger!
