Re: 700-R4 TV cable question

If this was to fix a broken TV cable, it should only be a temp fix. Auto parts stores sell a little part in the HELP section that has a threaded barrel, with a hole for the wire to insert and a screw to clamp down. That would be safer. If this is to re-program shifting, you need to re-educate yourself on what the TV is for. bowtieoverdrives.com is a good tech source. TV made EZ is their tech pages on the topic.

You haven't actually done anything useful there. As soon as you go to WOT the cable is going to ratchet out as it should to bring itself back to the one, and only one, correct setting.

okay thanks thats why i was asking, i just liked the way it seemed to shift with that. Is there anyway it can go out of adjustment if its never been touched from the factory? Thanks

The cable could "stretch" over time, but resetting it would fix that.

Re: 700-R4 TV cable question

You could use the Sonnax (AS1-01K-1) TV corrector here. It will collapse when you reach WOT and not let the TV cable come out of adjustment, and allow normal shifts at light throttle openings.

Re: 700-R4 TV cable question

i know the ziptie is not the proper method to adjust the tv cable, but without it it's shifting too early and is very hard to get it to downshift. With the ziptie, its shortening the cable raising the shift point and etc. Also, it has not ratcheted out with the ziptie in place at WOT...i just want to know if it is safe because it feels perfect when im driving. Thanks
