New Transgo Symptoms

Well, I got the car back and redid the seperator plate correctly. The car now shifts firmly into all gears except the 1-2 transition, which is soft and very slow.

My mechanic says that he could not complete step 1 of the transgo kit (boost valve, etc). Where are these components located, and could this cause the 1-2 problems.

Re: New Transgo Symptoms

I know.

Do you know where the boost valve is located?

The pump cover is accessible with the transmission in the car, correct?

He stated that he couldnt find it.

Does anybody have a picture of the pump cover so that I can show him?

Re: New Transgo Symptoms

it is on the opposite side of the filter from the lock-up solenoid at the front of the transmission. you can see the lock-up solenoid in the upper left corner of this pic. the filter goes to the right of it in the dark spot, and the boost valves go to the right of it in their own bore. unfortunately this pic isn't a very good one because they used a reaaly bright flash and you can't see the bore real good.

Cool! Thanks.

I found this site: http://www.camarobay.com/Transgo.htm

What effect would not doing the first step have on the kit?

The 1-2 shift is very very slow.

I hate to be a PITA but do you mind circling the bore, just so I can point EXACTLY to where the valve goes! Thanks

Re: New Transgo Symptoms

Back from the dead.

The car is out of hibernation, and I really need to get this fixed. Everything is great except the 1-2 transition. I have the new boost valve.

Could the boost valve be causing this problem?

If not, any pointers?

I'm most likely going to do this myself, most likely tomorrow.
