29x12.5 tires fit!

Some minor rubbing on the inside. I havent cut or beat anything yet. They touched the fender on the right side, but the rear is slightly off center. So after I fix that and roll the inside lip, it should be perfect. I still smoke these tires in 2nd gear with 2.73 gears. And I mean smoke.

15x10 draglites 5.5 backspacing. I still had an inch to the control arms, so a little more backspacing could fit a bit wider tire.

Oh, A 12.5 DOT tire not a 12.5 slick. Different sizes.

The rear is always off center. It's just more noticeable with big tires.

DOT width is measured across the sidewall. Slicks are measured across the tread. Seeing tread on your tires, they must be a DOT tire.

Looking at the tread, I'd guess MT Sportsman Pro tires. The 29 x 12.5 only has 10" of tread when mounted on a 10" rim and has a sidewall width of 13". MT doesn't have a similar sized slick.

Technically, you only have a 10" tire since that's the width of the tread.

This is what the wheel opening looked like when I had a 29.5 x 10.5 slick on the car. The back of the opening was trimmed for clearance. The rear was sitting high because there's so much weight removed and I was using V6 springs.

This is the difference between the 29.5 x 10.5 tires I had on the car and the 32 x 14 I now have on the car although these pics show some worn out Hoosier slicks and I now use MT.

holy wow. wide tires i like
what is the max width of tire can you put on a 9x15 rim? would a 10.5 slick work on that? thats what the rims i have on my car right now.
American outlaw II style rims.

Re: 29x12.5 tires fit!

Holy cow thats a big difference. At the track, I probably wont need much more than a 10 wide. I havent measured my tires, but Im guessing I could fit an 11 inch slick back there.
That sounds right on the tire I have, I got them used to see how a tire that big would hook. They dont. I know et streets hook well but dont last long. Ill have to look around for a better middle of the road tire. Sidewall is a little big for the road as well.

Your car is freakin wicked man. Nice video. Where the heck are you at, Alaska?
