picking the right tranny
first of all i have heard that the LS 6 speeds use a different input shaft and won't work on a L98.
plus i also am looking into add more hp into my car becasue i know that the t-56 is only rated for around 400 hp and i would like to break that soon
so with all that what would be the best for my car which is a 1991 z28 with the 5.7 l98???

Re: picking the right tranny
A t-56 can handle more than 400hp. Hell mine held 600rwhp then i had it build cuz I had so much downtime waiting on pistions and new turbos. And so far we took it to the 900rwhp range. car has a 12bolt with 3.42posi and a clutch like a light-switch. I killed to clutches in the fist 90days I got the car new. Cuz I never drove a stick. But the trans held even with me grinding gears. And even when I was forcing into gears that where not there. No bent forks?

Yeah and my other two buddies both twin turbo cars had t-56 one 560-660rwhp and the other 890rwhp. however we killed 10bolts once a week! In fact i think we each killed 2-3 before DTS was nice and gave use the 12bolts.
