hi all ive finally got to run the car after rebuilding the 700r4 i went with a full manual control as it was cheaper than swoping to a proper manual so when i put it in gear 1,2,3,or 4th from a stand still it moves . when i start to drive it 1st ok change to 2nd seems to be no second gear 3rd ok not driven fast to try 4th yet can not under stand why if i put it in 2nd from a standing start it seems ok thanks

 

hi all i took car out for a spin to see if 4th works and is does, just no second gear if any one has any ideas as to what i need to check please let me know thanks

 

What valve body kit are you using? Or is it a 'full manual" valve body from who?

 

hi original valve body i modified it useing the transgo reprograming kit

Did you make it the "full manual"? Did you lock out the governor with the special part from TransGo?

 

hi yes full manual no auto shifts yes i did put the spring thats holds the govnor arms open on it,took it out today this time i started off in 2nd then 3rd and 4th but 2nd gear felt like it was 1st got about 15-20 mph with alot of revs is it possible to have 2 first gears

 

hi in the transgo kit instrucions it says install a .250 check ball in auxilliary valve body is this the large one that comes in the kit or one of the small ones i did use one small one just thought id check thanks

Remember, this is a "second" design valve body. The instructions call for two .250" checkballs in the valve body, four in the case, and one in the forward accumulator (auxilliary valve body). Recheck the band adjustment. Go back over the instructions, and make sure you did the "second" design valve body only.... Anotherwords "double check" your work closely. If you had second gear before the build, then something that was done is preventing second gear now.
