TKO 600 shifter
I hear alot about the pro5.0 being used on our cars. With tko600!
Just wanted to know if any one is useing something else or is that the only/best shifter to use?
Also what shifter bar/handle is most used?
I'am trying to order all my parts, and would like the best options to choose from. any one? THANKS

Re: TKO 600 shifter
ive been looking at the tri-ax, i think its from steeda, the handle even looks like it will work. Im using the modified stock hurst with a straight stick, it works well but its now very smooth.

Thanks 86TA. I was also looking at that tri-ax. But was unsure if it would work or fit, being its for a mustang.
Their seem to be alot of shifters for the mustangs.

Re: TKO 600 shifter
the tko trans is a design mainly used in mustangs from teh factory
its the right shifter as far as the location where it bolts to the trans, and the stick looks like it will fit and work nicely. I just dont know anyone with one. I was thinking about getting one when the rest of my current projects are together.

Re: TKO 600 shifter
I have the steeda tri-ax... love it to death. Perfect fit on the lowest handle setting. The higher one hits the front of the stock 3rd gen shift plate if the foward shift stop is not set perfect.
I swapped out to a 4th gen dash/console and had fiberglass over the auto plate so needless to say mine fits even better.

Re: TKO 600 shifter
i bought this shifter handle do not get it...its MUCH SMALLER then it appears in photo...so tiny i didnt have time to send it back so i just cut off the head of a bolt welded it on and painted it...and you honestly would not know...its about 3-4 inches to short...but it will work if you extend the upper portion that amount...it also wont bolt to stock tremec shifter without drilling the holes bigger...im just going to by the steeda triax shifter 86ta pointed out and someone else said they have it...i like pro 5.0 shifters but no good stick for a tko 600 application for our cars...all has to be modded

Re: TKO 600 shifter
Sorry to bring this thread back to life, but has anyone used the Steeda Tri-ax shifter with the TKO in the 3rd gen car?

Re: TKO 600 shifter
Thanks 86ta, that was the info I was looking for, did you try the Pro 5.0 as well. I am trying to decided which would be a better choice. Also 86ta are you using the stock bellhousing with the adapter plate

Re: TKO 600 shifter
i have not used the pro 5.0, just the stock offset jurst and the tri-ax. I may just make my own handle for the tri-ax, i kinda want it a little higher yet. Maybe another 1/2 inch
im using the lakewood 3rd gen explosion proof bell and the adapter plate.

Re: TKO 600 shifter
so 86ta do you like the feel of the shifter alot better than the stock piece? Was it worth it for the money? also would a hurst stick bolt up to it? Thanks, im just tired of the slop in the stock 600 shifter. After having the hurst pro billet on my t5 the tko feels like im shifting a big truck lol

Re: TKO 600 shifter
i never found the stock hurst shifter to have any slop at all, so i dont know what your talking about there. But it is clunky, but then again, the trans is a bit clunky.
The tri-ax is a bit smoother, and i do not believe a hurst stick will bolt to it, but honestly i didnt try. I picked up the tri-ax for just a little over 90 bux, so it was worth every penny, they cost about 200 new. I think its an improvement, but not sure if its worth 200 bux to try it.
