T56 shift issue
I have the aftermarket T56 swapped in and have added SLP 1 3/4 headers. I have noticed when the car gets hot, or after being driven for a while the clutch pedal sticks and doesn't seem to engage the clutch as much as it did when it was cold causing hard shifting. The hydraulic cable (plastic) runs near the header I assume to much heat is causing the poor shifting. Anyone else had this issue. I am going to wrap the line in header wrap tomorrow to see if it helps. Also would it be better to swap in hydraulics from a 93+ Camaro? Any help would be appreciated.

i'm not sure about the heat, i still use the plastic line with coaty shortie headers i have no issues, check the hydraulics to make sure you have enough throw on the fork, sometimes this will cause it not to release all the way.

Re: T56 shift issue
Well its seems that the heat was the issue. Has anyone used the T56 hydraulics for our cars? I like the braided line and it seems the same price if I ordered the parts from Mcleod.

Re: T56 shift issue
i have the lt1 style hydraulics with the braided hose, the hose is a little longer, but it works fine.
I would use the 3rd gen master though, the 4th gen one seems to have a slightly different head loop and fits the pedal a little weird

Re: T56 shift issue
Will the LT1 hose fit the stock master? I can remove the roll pin and remove the stock plastic line and I already have an aluminum slave cylinder so if I could just swap the line that would be awesome.

Re: T56 shift issue
I dont think i tried doing that to the master but i did do it to the slave and it required to drill the hole bigger and something else, maybe something to do with the washer, having a hard time remembering cause it was years ago. You might be able to take apart the master and switch the rod itself. most of the parts can be swapped internally.
