I have a 86 Camaro with a New bored out 350 and now the tranny makes a knocking noise (700R4 I think) mostly when at idle and increases as as you accelerate. It makes the noise whether it is in gear or in park. Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

sounds like an engine noise, probabaly a lifter need adjustment.

 

I am not sure how much vibrations travel but you can feel the knocking at the console area just above the transmision. We already checked the lifters for proper adjustment, but thanks for the quick responce.

 

pull your inspection cover and check your flexplate, mabye it's bent, or torque converter is loose? I'd double check that as well

 

Had one of my torque convertor bolts come loose and hitting the dust shield

What is bump??

 

"bump" is just a term so you know that the thread has been moved back to the top of th threads so people see it first again. I hate to keep moving it to the top but I am really concerned with the noise and need as many suggestions as possible till I figure it out.
