Advice on my clutch problem
Advice on my clutch problem
Ok, so I was driving and was shifting into 2nd when my clutch pedal just dropped to the floor. Its a mechanical pedal assembly and i checked too see if anything was broken but it still works fine. My buddy's dad knows alot about transmissions and said several things could be messed up in the clutch assembly. So i figured I'd just replace the whole assembly while the trans/bellhousing was dropped. (Its an '83 camaro w/ a t5, 305 LG4, and about 103k miles on a stock clutch)
Does anyone have any advice on a couple of the moves I would make?
1.) Replace the clutch assembly. (What brand clutch? I would like to get a stage 2 because i plan on doing an engine swap in the near future.)
2.) I have a couple of friends that have rebuilt transmissions before so i figured i would rebuild that while its out. (Should i rebuild? Use a completely different trans? Or possibly use a newer t5, because i hear they have various better internals?
