tranny probs.

ok here's the prob.
the tranny is an otherwise new 700-R4, rebuilt w/ B&M parts all over and a shift kit. I have a v6. It shifts too early out of first, @ 5200 RPMs instead of 6000 RPMs, and doesn't want to shift into 3rd unless I let off the gas. So in effect the engine will keep going past 6000 RPMs and lot shift at all, unless I let off the throttle. That really slows the car down. I want to sell the car because of this problem. I am 18, and do what I can, but I'm no master mechanic. Someone help!

I'd call B&M Tech and get their opinion(s).

did you play with the governor springs? we dont even bother with that anymore at my trans shop. Too hard to get right, people come back all the time. Put it back to stock shifting and shift it yourself.

no the governor springs are stock. my tranny was so bad when it went that the "CORE" is from a '88 blazer w/ a 2.8. the only thing savable from the original tranny was the reverse sunshell. Even if I manually have the tranny in first gear it will still shift out @ 5200. so then, I will be in second gear, with the shifter in 1st.

I got a B&M transkit, not a tranny from them, but the transkit has like all the parts there anyway. So they were all replaced. I've heard even though I have a V6, it should shift real hard out of first, and possibly chirp the tires, but I'm not even close.

By the way, here's my new sig.

yeah, it's set perfect, but when set right, it still shifts wrong, no matter what it won't shift any differently.

I had a similar problem with a B&M kit in my 700R4. It would shift late and sometimes not at all.
The problems went away after I had removed the B&M kit.

is it possible to remove it?
i don't think I can remove the transkit.

Sorry, what I was referring to was the shift kit. I should have specified that in my last post above.
Considering you said your tv cable is adjusted perfect and assuming you checked the governor, I would start looking at the valve body which is what controls your transmission.

the wierd thing is, the car feels quicker and faster, maybe from 5200-6000 it's making less power than it is around 3100-3500?
