World Class or Non-World Class

I am looking at a transmission for sale on ebay. The stamped number on it is
13-52-196. I looked the number up on some chart and it came out to be a WC t5. However the tranny came out of an 87 (wc's came out in 88 im pretty sure). So do you think it is a wc or not?

Re: World Class or Non-World Class

if the pictures of the trans are good you might be able to tell by lookin at it. i think the world class transmissions have a sticker on them that say they require Dexron automatic trans fluid. and a couple of other things, like the intermediate shaft bearing on the front of the transmission will say TIMKIN on a world class trans and it will say nothing on a non-world class trans.

i bought a t5 off a member on here that took it out of a 85 and it happened to be a world class so someone may have replaced the trans, so you never know.

Re: World Class or Non-World Class

The T5 sticky at the top of this forum shows you how to tell a WC from a NWC by looking at the front cluster bearing.
